Letters from Limbo
Greetings, friends, and welcome back to another Letters from Limbo post!
I started this section of my creative journey to share fun, thought-provoking, and slightly wacky ideas about life. We’ve been very serious lately, so I wanted to step back and tease out a fun “what if”: How would I run a political campaign?

Take this with a heavy grain of salt, of course—it’s more of a mental exercise than an active announcement (for now, at least!).
In modern politics, charisma and celebrity often take center stage over deep policy expertise. Candidates travel in high-tech motorcades and speak to pre-screened audiences at orchestrated town halls.
So how would a broke disability advocate with Cerebral Palsy run for office?
Honestly? I love the idea of getting an accessible van and taking a grassroots tour across this great country. Instead of filling rooms with pre-selected supporters, lobbyists, or mega-donors, I’d drive into local neighborhoods—from rural Nebraska to urban New York—and ask real people two simple questions: “What is important to you, and what would make you vote for someone?”

People often ask if I’d run as a Democrat, Republican, or Independent. To be completely honest, there are things I respect and things I detest about both major parties. A Democrat might call me too conservative; a Republican might call me too liberal. But I am strong in my convictions, and I believe most Americans just want elected officials who are willing to listen, talk, negotiate, and understand the actual legislative process.
So many people don’t even know who their Lieutenant Governor, Mayor, or Town Council members are. That’s where real governance happens! My whole campaign strategy would be centered around putting America back into politics by listening directly to the American people.
Hope you enjoyed this little goofy political fantasy of mine. Let me know in the comments: What’s the number one issue you wish politicians asked you about face-to-face?
Until next time, peace and love to you all! Keep on rolling, keep on living.
